LIPOSUCTION WITH A ‘TULIP’ IS ONE OF MY MOST POPULAR COSMETIC PROCEDURES
Whether performed alone or in conjunction with other procedures, the goal of liposuction is plain and simple: to get rid of unwanted fat. (No wonder it appeals to so many.) My first approach is to use finer cannulas, (flexible tubes), to extract the fat, which provides more control than the larger cannulas used in years past. 20 years ago, cannulas were much larger and would take fat out very quickly. The problem was the fat came out so fast, it was difficult to control, resulting in ‘bumpiness’ and rippling of the skin. By utilizing a finer cannula, I am able to proceed in a more artistic manner, enabling me to ‘sculpt’ a more aesthetically appealing look and provide a better result.
TULIP-LIPOSUCTION PROTOCOL
I have also been able to develop a new pre/post-operative technology, which I call the T-U-L-I- P Liposuction Protocol. The “T” represents tumescent fluid which I inject prior to the procedure to control post- operative pain; “U” stands for Ultrasonic Liposuction which uses sonic waves to break up fibrous and scar tissues – dissolving fat cells; “L” relates to my Liposculpture technique to remove and sculpt fat tissue; “I” refers to investing garments which compress the skin against the muscle to form the body to the new sculpted contour; and “P” designates post-operative use of non-surgical VellaShape III which delivers radio frequency and external gentle suction to shrink the skin and improve the skin’s texture. To utilize an overused pun – this may all sound like a ‘flowery’ statement but the end result is a beautifully contoured body and very pleased patient!
By the way, Liposuction, also known as Liposculpture, or Lipoplasty, works best on areas in which fat is soft and loose, such as thighs, abdomen and buttocks. It is also often used in conjunction with abdominoplasty, commonly known as a ‘Tummy Tuck’. I should also point out that this procedure is incorporated into our ‘Mommy Makeover’.
