How Weight Loss Affects Breast Enhancement
Breast are a complex organ of milk producing glands, fat, fibrous tissue and skin, which are affected by genetics, hormones and certain medications. Thus, based on these variables “one answer for all” is impossible, particularly since where a woman accumulates, or loses fat is genetically inherited. Lastly skin elasticity is often modified by changes in breast volume. Thus, a small weight drop after getting breast implants will have little to no impact on your implants and breast size. A patient would have to lose a significant amount of weight to see a decrease in breast size and a potential impact on the implants. What is important is choosing the ideal implant size to aesthetically complement your body. Therefore, the choice of a plastic surgeon who has successfully performed a multitude of breast enhancement procedures becomes even more important in achieving a woman’s ultimate objective and desire.

In conclusion, the simple answer is to obtain your realistic weight (or close to it) and then revaluate your breasts for desired size and shape. I always suggest patients collect multiple model photos of their desired breast shape/size and schedule an appointment with an experienced Plastic Surgeon who is Certified by the American Board of Plastic Surgery and ideally a member of the American Society for Aesthetic Plastic Surgery.
